Anti-Cruelty Society
This is a picture of our fabulous adopted Rottweiler mix, Chyna. She was surrendered to the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago at 8 years of age because her family was moving and couldn't keep her. I first saw Chyna while volunteering in the dog adoption room; she was so scared and sad. I was leaving for vacation that week, but before I left I mentioned to the shelter manager that I would be interested in fostering her in case she got sick. Of course she contracted kennel cough while I was away, but another volunteer agreed to foster her until I returned home. Chyna became our foster dog on October 21, 2007. Fortunately, she hit it off with our two adopted cats, and we officially adopted her on February 21, 2008. Chyna is cherished every single moment of every day, and we can't imagine life without her.
