I rescued a very skinny Half Arab mare from our shelter. She was down about 300 lbs. when I got her. We slowly put some weight on her. Four months after we got her, our Vet was out doing another check up. He grinned at me and said she was looking good and we could expect the foal around April. I was shocked! We had no idea Melody was pregnant. We realized because of her poor condition when we got her we could loose the foal and possibly her. We monitored her closely, gave her lots of love and said alot of prayers. The Monday after Easter '06 I woke to find a wonderful little filly standing at Melody's side. Today the are both healthy and they bring us alot of pleasure.We named the baby...Melody's Spring Miracle...for that is what she is.
