Shelter Medicine Education

dogThere are many opportunities at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for Shelter Medicine Education. Many of the lectures given by members of the shelter medicine program are archived here for downloading and in some instances on-line viewing.

  • CLASS Each spring quarter the UC Davis school of Veterinary Medicine offers "Shelter Medicine 101," an elective introductory course to the field of shelter medicine open to freshman through junior veterinary students. In addition, all interested sheltering professionals are invited to come and listen to the lectures.  If you are not located close to us you can still view the lecture notes and the recommended reading material for each lecture by clicking on the link to the class.  We are very excited to announce that this year we will be offering a live on-line simulcast of the class as well as on-line recordings of all lectures that you may view from wherever you have a DSL or higher internet connection.
  • LECTURE TOPICS This section of our Education Site contains various lecture notes and recordings (when available) of lectures presented nationwide by members of the shelter medicine program.
