Biography: Dr. Pesavento attended Harvard University where she received a PhD in Biology, and began research in the field of infectious diseases. After receiving her DVM from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis, she completed a residency in Anatomic Pathology and was Board Certified in 2004. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anatomic Pathology at Davis where she works on a vast array of species. Her research interest is to understand the virulence factors and pathogens that emerge from the shelter environment. Among those she has characterized are hypervirulent forms of feline calicivirus and Streptococcus spp. in dogs and cats.
