This document is a short summary of how to use Ponazuril (Marquis Paste) for the treatment of Coccidia in kittens and puppies. This information has been compiled from the scientific literature and is presented as a guideline only. All medication given to shelter or foster animals should be administered only under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.
Coccidia is a frequent problem in puppies and/or kittens at many shelters. In some cases prophylactic treatment (as opposed to treating only symptomatic or diagnosed animals) is preferable to prevent environmental contamination and spread. Ponazuril has been successfully used off label for this purpose. This document provides some of the research behind this and information on dilution and dosage.
